Seasons Restaurant, Grand Palace Hotel, Riga, Latvia

In December 2009 I visited Latvia on business and stayed at the Grand Palace Hotel in the center of the old town. It is a beautiful hotel, with excellent staff. The weather was cold and it was snowing.

So after my meeting I decided to dine at the hotel. A visit to the bar was a nice prelude to my dinner.

The Seasons Restaurant is included in the Michelin 2025 choices of restaurants in Riga.

I started with trout tartar. Riga is surrounded by sea, rivers and lakes and trouts are abundant. The dish was excellent.

I continued with Duck Breast with polenta and beetroot. Another excellent dish.

I concluded my dinner with a Selection of cheeses from local farms that was enough for two.

I do not know whether life will take me to Riga again, but if and when it does, I will stay and dine at the Grand Palace Hotel and Seasons Restaurant.
